Commisions - Terms & conditions

Leer en Español (Más abajo)

My name is Javier González. I was born in Gijón, Spain in 1980. Actually, I live in Ubrique, in the Cádiz state. I'm Professional Miniature Painter since 2009 and Digital Sculptor since 2017.

If you're a fan of the figures and want a special miniature for your army, you like miniature painting and want a reference or you're a fan of miniatures and want a great little figure in your collection, and besides that you like my way of painting, I will be happy to accept commission works.

In this stage as a professional, I have worked for various miniatures trademarks as well as for collectors and lovers of this world. You can find some of my works in trademarks as Infamy Miniatures, Stoormtroopers,Nocturna ModelsTale of WarOrigen ArtKabuki modelsTiny LeadsResina Planet, Terrible Kids Stuff or Big Child Creatives, MoM Miniaturas , and Head of the painting department at Hydra Studio, offering professional servicequalityreasonable prices and good deadlines.

Working with me you can have an integral service tan includes not only painting job, but also composition, conversions, photography and digital edition if requested.
I must say that not everyone wants the same thing and not all jobs have the same difficulty, that is why I like to quote customized to each customer and each figure, you have my e-mail on the top right navigation bar, please contact me to give you.

Those budgets do not include taxes. If you live in Europe, painting tax is 21% (IVA, or VAT), digital sculpting tax is also 21 %. If you live outside Europe, the tax is 0% anyway, but you could be charged instead at customs in your own country.

Before working with me you must accept some terms and conditions.

Commissioning me a miniature means that you accept all terms and conditions. Ignoring or disclaiming them does not excuse compliance.
with that, you authorise me to request personal data for administrative purposes or invoicing. Those data includes COMPLETE NAME (yours or brand's), ADDRESS (yours or brand's), COUNTRY and TAX NUMBER (CIF, NIF, SSN... it depends on your country; It's a legal requirement in Spain, but it's only recommended for customers from outside Spain, this is due invoicing laws in Spain)

Briefly, summarise my usual working method:

I need the unmounted miniature to start, you have to provide it to me, buying it and sending it to me or buying online and giving my address for shipping. I do not have any physical shop in my town, so in fact, I should order it anyway.

It's possible that I ask you for a first payment before starting work. This payment will not be refunded in any case and will never be higher than 20% of the painting work. I usually only request it if long time commission (big commission or longer in the queue) or very expensive.

Before working in the miniature I could ask you to see if you are looking for any particular setting, colour scheme, etc ... or will you give me creative freedom.
I am in charge of the preparation of the figure (cleaning, deburring, polishing, caulking, priming ...) and the base paint, photography and more.

Once it's finished I will send you by e-mail a batch of pictures, final pics or pictures of the process in an advanced stage of the figure (90-95%) if it's "ok" for the customer the payment could be done by bank account or PayPal including the total amount, Usually, this price includes shipping. I can not be responsible for shipping damages or incidences (as losses), even if I do my best to avoid them. Miniatures are strongly protected with several layers of different kinds of materials and foams.

Once payment is received the figure is out for the client by registered mail and is usually safe and sound there in a week (slightly more for international shipments).

If you are not satisfied with the figure two things could happen: we can make specific tweaks in some elements or you can cancel the transaction and I sell the figure on eBay (in that case there are no refund for miniatures price).

If I get no reply from the customer in the 15 days following the ending date of the painting work I will feel free to sell the miniatures to another buyer.

In any case, I reserve the rights to the pictures and the use of them for self-advertisement, in the same way, I will keep the authorship of the figure. All my pictures are the intellectual property of Javier González (Arsies) and are under a Creative Commons License.

I usually sign in the base, but if the customer does not want to I can avoid this step. I always include a certificate of authenticity.

The varnish is optional and if used are included in the price, ie no additional charge.
I use high-quality varnish, but unfortunately, the perfect varnish does not exist and finish there is always a bit undermined by the use of them, usually the showcase figures do not need it because the miniature is not going to be handled in excess and If it can be caught by the exposure base, if board figures I do recommend its use.

Usually, I'm offering one painting quality in high scale miniatures: best one, but on 30mm ones I accept to Intermediate works. In my gallery's are many minis painted so it's easy to have an idea about what are you going to get.

The difference between an intermediate and a High-quality miniature is just noticeable in a closer look. Intermediate quality does not include freehands or plints. Details are a bit more polished on High-Quality. You can see 2 miniatures here to compare:

                                  HIGH-QUALITY                                  INTERMEDIATE QUALITY

Delivery times are customised because they depend heavily on the work queue that I could have at the time of receiving the miniature, not at the time to formalise the request, usually ranging from 1 to 3 months and I try to keep the client informed of the status of the order.

                                 CALIDAD ALTA                                CALIDAD INTERMEDIA

Escríbeme, no muerdo.

------------  FAQ  English ---------------

- ¿What's included in price?
In the price is included all cleaning, assembling and preparing work, painting work in all elements, basing work even if self-constructed or resin and a wood plint to expose it at request from the customer.

- ¿That preparing and painting work includes conversions and freehands?
Usually, freehand work is included if you wish, but just up to a certain difficulty. That's because there's a point when freehand becomes more complex and requires more work that the hole miniature, so from this point on I'm asking a plus that is mentioned at the beginning, that's why is so important to detail what are you looking for in the first mail so I can give you a detailed budget
About conversions, I do easy conversions and dynamic poses done with cut and paste, but if you are looking for a more complex work I call a professional sculptor that wants to charge too so it supposes a price increase. Slowly I'm learning the sculpture process so, even more, I do at my own the conversions, but that extra time also means a price increase.

- ¿What do you mean with "shipping & handling"?
Shipping costs include too an estimation of working time to make packages as a little bit fraction of the materials cost as boxes foams etc... At this moment I'm not charging anything for this, but it's good to remind and evaluate it.

- ¿What can I do if my miniature arrived broken?
Unfortunately, I can't be responsible for shipping damages. Miniatures are extremely fragile so it's impossible to say certainly if they are going to arrive sound and safe. I'm not offering any refund mainly because useal shipping insurances does not cover this kind of mercancy, but if you want to send me again the miniature to repair or wait to see me in a contest or something, I can repair it for you for free.

- ¿How do you protect the miniatures for shipping?
I use a transparent film first, it's not abrasive so it protects the painting work, then I use a cellulose paper or a flexible foam. At the end miniature is fixed in a more straight foam cut its size to avoid movements or knocking

- ¿Why delivery time is so long?
Delivery date varies according to my scheduled work. Once a miniature arrives at my home it enters in queue list and wait until it's it orderly turn (i.e. when I have finished all miniatures that were before, most of the time your miniature is just waiting) Once I start painting work miniature should be finished in the next 4-15 days (around 32 top 120 working hours) for usual works.
Sometimes, urgent work enters first to queue delaying all other commisions. They used to be BoxArts done for brands that work with very adjusted deadlines and they pay an extra because of that. This urgent service is only available to brands. I apologize for the inconvenience to other customers. Fortunately, this is not very usual.

- ¿There is some way to know how's going my miniature?
Sure, in my web there's a section called Scheduled work in the sidebar when you can chek wich miniatures are waiting and in wich order, I'm going to work on them. Usually, just one or 2 are started because I want to work on miniatures from start to end. You can write me an email too. Usually, all queued miniatures have an estimated delivery date, but please be sure you understand that is just estimated.

- ¿What happens if I can't reply in 15 days once you finish the miniature or I just can't pay in that moment?
I need a reply in 15 days or I'll look for another buyer for your miniatures. I'm not flexible with this. If you are thinking of travelling and your miniature is going to be started o it's started (percent is higher than 00%), then please write me and I'll wait for you until you come back. I can't know if you aren't at home or you aren't just interested anymore on the miniatures.
If you can't complete payment at this time please talk to me, I'm a reasonable person and I'm going to accept some solution (I accept fractionated payments several times and it worked very well)

- ¿And if I don't like the miniature?
I'm not perfect, sometimes I don't understand customer or customer don't understand me, or we have a communication problem or maybe miniatures are just not so good so a not so good painting job is the maximum I can get from them, or I'm not in my best moment and nothing worked... fact is that it could, and it happened in the past (even if I can count with one hand and I have fingers left). In that case, we can change something in the miniature if there are just some details or if it's a big problem we can cancel work and I look for another buyer.

- Why do you need my tax number, CIF, NIF, SSN or something like that?
because according to Spanish law to fill an invoice  both seller (me) and buyer (you) need to be identified not only with the personal data, it's needed to fill a unique identification tax number (in Spain people use DNI and companies CIF), it's a legal requirement for customers from here. I know that in some countries this is a private number and it's not usual to give it. Here is a legal requirement that can be skipped if collected invoices to the same customer in the same tax year are under 3000 €, but still is highly recommended.

- ¿And If I have another question that is not here?
Write me, I don't bite
