The Getaway; Step by Step (VII)

[Es]Cuando Piqui me dio la figura terminada me plantee un duro trabajo que requería un trabajo diferente al que estoy acostumbrado. Normalmente utilizo aerografo en casi todas mis figuras hasta el punto de casi dejarlo terminado a falta de definir un par de detalles. La textura del dragón me imposibilitaba ese trabajo.

El planteamiento era que necesitaba darle mucho protagonismo al dragón, por tanto buscaría un color intenso y vivo para el mismo, y a la par quería trabajar mucho la piel para darle aún más textura.

Lo primero que hice fue imprimar en dos colores, blanco y negro, de esta forma conseguiré unas luces más vivas y unas sombras más profundas, aunque me va a dificultar un poco el trabajo de degradado, por suerte en este caso la textura ayuda a suavizar el efecto.

después con aerografo marque los volúmenes y color base iniciales únicamente como referencia, después hice algunas pruebas de color en la cabeza y vi que el resultado me gustaba aunque necesitaría darle más trabajo de tonos después

[En]When Piqui gives me the finished miniature I thought a hard work was in from of me that needed a different kind of work i usually do. Usually I use airbrush as far as I can almost finishing the miniature with only definition work left. Dragon’s texture made me impossible to do that

I thought i needed to give the principal paper to the dragon so i had to search an intense and alive colour for the skin that i wanted to work even more than usuall to give it more texture if possible.

First i did was to aply primmer to the minaiture in two colours, black and white so white would give me much lighter colurs and black would give me much deeper shadows even if this way could made much difficult the shades work. Fortunately texture would made that softer.

In that point i did a general volumes with airbrush and a colour base, just like a reference, and so i did a colour test in the head and shaw that I liked the colour even if it needed much more tones work.

I used two primmers black at first and white from abobe -
