Hispania Wargames, Grisalla (Grisaille) MasterClass

During the past weekend, Hydra Studio, where I'm currently Painting Head, did a painting MasterClass at Hispania Wargames where I expend a couple of hours painting 2 miniatures using Grisaille + Filters techniques with Airbrush (even if those techniques can be done with a brush).

The objective was to show people how they can improve their painting speed with armies that use the same colour schemes and at the same time, improve the quality of the painting work. In that way, I painted 2 minis at the same time with different qualities to show them that you don't need to be very skilful using an airbrush to paint in this way.

The Masterclass went great and so many people attended the 2 hours, with moments where we had more than 40 persons attending at the same time, something not very usual in this kind of events focused on tabletop wargaming.

We used 2 cameras to record the masterclass, but unfortunately, one of them didn't record anything and the other one was the assistant one, that was not in the best angle. Anyway, We'll try to recover everything useful and mount it in the following weeks.

El pasado fín de semana  Hydra Studio, donde trabajo actualmente como jefe de pintura, impartió una MasterClass en las Hispania Wargames donde dedicamos un par de horas a pintar con grisalla y filtros dos miniaturas con Aerografo (aunque estas técnicas pueden aplicarse también a pincel).

El objetivo era mostrar a la gentre como mejorar su velocidad de pintado en ejercitos que usen el mismo esquema de color en serie, y a la vez, mejorar la calidad del mismo. Para ello, pinté dos figuras con diferente nivel de acabado para demostrar que no necesitas dominar a fondo la aerografía para pintar de esta manera.

La MasterClass fué genial y mucha gente se acercó a escuchar, con algunos momentos donde tuvimos más de 40 personas atendiendo al mismo tiempo, algo inusual en este tipo de eventos más enfocados al jugador de tablero.

Disponíamos de dos cámaras para grabar la charla, por desgracia, la cámara principal (la conectada a la tele para los asistentes) no grabó nada, y la cámara de asistencia no estaba situada en el mejor ángulo. De todas formas trataremos de recuperar todo el material aprovechable y montarlo a lo largo de las próximas semanas.
