Aruh-Ka - Scale 75 Ork Shamman

Hi guys. I'm not posting so much lately. We at Hydra Studio are working in a future project we expect to show you soon. While we can release it, I painted this mini, Aruh Ka, from @Scale75, as a commission job. I choose a colour scheme similar to the official miniature art box but applying a warmer lighting and a less fantasy colour gamut. For the skin, so protagonist in the figure, the I was inspired by the reflections and contrasts of the skin of people of colour, who have bigger shadow areas, and stronger smaller contrast in lights but transferred to a scale of greens. This personal decision was based on the fact that the features and shamanic aesthetics of the figure resemble these more than those of a caucasian person. Hope you like it.

Nancy Steelpunch 75 mm

Lately, I was focused on 30mm miniature painting. I feel comfortable painting that size, but, honestly, sometimes I miss to paint something bigger.

Fortunately, I had the chance to paint this model from Scale75, Nancy Steelpunch. A steampunk pin-up painted for a private customer.

Colour scheme is the same as boxart's one, so nothing innovative here except my personal touch. Hope you like her!

Fallen Frontiers Sayx soldier (edited)

[Es] Fallen Frontiers es un juego de batallas basado en el combate por escuadras. Como supongo algunos de vosotros sabréis, FF es un producto diseñado y en un futuro comercializado por Scale Games, una  filial de Scale75, conocida marca Española de miniaturas.

Queriendo mostrar a su público la calidad del trabajo realizado, Scale 75 produjo una tirada limitada de unidades (13 para ser exactos) de este soldado en 40 mm perteneciente a la facción Sayx para ser utilizados tanto por mi como por mis alumnos en un Curso de pintura en Jerez de la Frontera. Tanto las piezas como el molde se produjeron exclusivamente para este momento y pueden ser diferentes en algún aspecto de las miniaturas finales. aunque por supuesto Scale 75 tiene la potestad de producir más cuando deseen para otros eventos.

EDITADO: debido al uso de mis publicación para contrastar la información relativa al nuevo kickstarter de Scale75, me veo en la obligación de repetir que estas 13 miniaturas fueron impresas y producidas en exclusiva para este curso y debido a margenes de tiempo es ligeramente mayor que las figuras finales al ser un test de impresión. Scale75 me ha confirmado que las figuras finales son de 35-38mm, escala 1:48, escala "0"

De paso he decidido posponer la venta de la miniatura hasta pasado el kickstarter para evitar futuros problemas.

Durante el curso todos dispusimos de una figura sobre la que practicar y yo utilicé esta para demostraciones de pintura y ejemplos. En muchos casos ni siquiera me plantee el esquema de color sino que simplemente usaba colores que ya tenía en la paleta por lo que el resultado puede ser algo raro a primera vista.

Fallen Frontiers Sayx Soldier

[En] Fallen Frontiers is a battle game based on combat squads. As I supose some of you know, FF is a product designed and in a future commercialized by Scale Games, a subsidiary of Scale 75, a well known spanish miniatures brand.

With the intention to show their public the real quality of the work done, Scale 75 casted a limited shot (13 to be exact) of this soldier in 40mm from the Sayx faction to be used for my pupils and me in a workshop done in Jerez de la Frontera. As soldiers as mold were done exclusively for this moment and can be different from final miniatures, but, of course Scale 75 have the rights to produce more as they wish for other events.

EDITED: due some other's use of my post to contrast new kickstarter's information from Scale75, i'm forced to repeat that this 13 miniatures were printed and casted exclusively for this workshop and as due timeframes they are slighty bigger than final models as they are printing test. Scale75 confirmed me that final miniatures are 35-38mm, scale 1:48, scale "0".

By the waty, I decided to stop the sell of this miniature until kickstarter is finished to avoid more troubles.

During Workshop we all had a miniature to practice and I used mine to make painting demostrations and examples. Most time I did not thought about color scheme, I just used colors I had in my palette so could look bit weir in a first look

North & South

Desde la semana pasada he estado trabajando en un pequeño proyecto en 70mm. Quería pintar 2 soldados de la guerra civil en Estados Unidos (en 1861 más o menos), uno de cada ejército. Nunca había pintado nada de este periodo pero como voy a ir a Philadelphia el mes que viene al MFCA Show, mis compañeros monos pensaron que podía ser una buena idea y me convencieron.

El primero es de Scale 75, "casualty toll" (parte de bajas). Lo he pintado la semana pasada. Podeis ver una review que hizo Alex en el blog de los Cursed Monkeys si no conoceis aún la miniatura.

El segundo es "Southern Pride" (orgullo sureño) de Heroes & Villains, Farenheith miniature project. Es este caso conte con la colaboración de Piqui para el terreno que creo que está basado en al película "Lo que le viento se llevó".

Quiero agradecer su ayuda a Pepe Gallardo y Gregorio Galán que me echaron un cable con la información y la uniformología (especialmente en el segundo que encontré que el detalle podría ir en rojo, verde, amarillo, azul o negro y estaba volviendome loco).

Since past week I was working on a small proyect in 70mm. I wanted to paint 2 soldiers of the United States civil war (1861 more or less), one of each side. I never painted something of this war, but as I'm going to go to Philadelphia next month to MFCA show, my monkey friendas thought it could be a great idea to do so they convince me.

First one was the Scale75 "casualty toll" miniature I painted during last week. You can read a review Alex did in the Cursed Monkey's blog if you don't know the miniature yet.

Second one is the "Southern Pride" from Heroes & Villains Farenheit miniature project. In this one I had Piqui's cooperation doing terrain that I think it's based on the film "Gone with the wind".

I want to thank for their help to Pepe Gallardo and Gregorio Galan who helped me with the information and uniform's colour (specially in the last one that I found that details could be in red, green, yellow, blue and black and I was becoming crazy).

Bueno acabo de volver de viaje del concurso de Torrent en Valencia, supongo que dentro de poco tendréis los detalles en el blog de los cursed monkeys, pero de momento vamos a ver la última miniatura que he terminado.

Despues de un tiempo pintando 28mm ya me apetecía algo más grande Eric el Rojo es un 75mm que he pintado siguiendo el mismo esquema de color del boxart de Elías Alonso. Lo he ubicado en una calzada roma en desuso (o algo similar vaya, no se si se corresponde el periodo). Espero que os guste.

Hi all. just come back from a contest in Torrent (Valencia), I supose sonn you can have a chronicle in Cursed Monkey's blog, but for now we are going to see last minaiture I finished.

After some time painting 28mm I wanted to painted something bigger. Eric The red is 75mm tall and I painted it using same colour scheme as Elías Alonso's boxart. I fitted it on an old unused roman road (or something like that, I really don't know if the timming is correct). Hope you like it!
