Vandus Hammerhand

Vandus Hammerhand is a sworn enemy of the Dark Gods. As Lord-Celestant of the hammers of Sigmar his warriors fight as one, energised by his purpose and might. Vandus was the first to tame a celestial Dracoth, and the first to harness the beast’s ability to breathe bolts of magical force. Respected by all, and trusted implicitly by Sigmar himself, he is haunted constantly by visions of his mortal tribe’s death – these visions spur him to astonishing acts of vengeance against Chaos in the Mortal Realms.

Vandus Hammerhand, iconic Lord-Celestant and stoic leader of many Stormcast Eternals victories, mounted on a powerful Dracoth. He wields a Tempestos Hammer in one hand and clutches the reins of this Dracoth in the other, with a banner of Sigmar streaming above his magnificent headgear. His dense armour is covered in hammer and lightning symbols – the lithe, furious form of the Dracoth is likewise encased in similar plate.

Vandus Hammerhand was a private commission done for a collector this year. I do not have so many Games Workshop commissions lately, but I still enjoy painting this range of models so every oportunity is a time for fun to me. Hope you like it.

Cypher

There is one whom the Masters of the Dark Angels seek above all others. He is a being wrapped in shadow, an entity whose motives and methods are an enigma; even the name by which he is known alludes to concealment – though whether it is a metaphor or yet another conundrum is unknown. He is Cypher, and to the Dark Angels, he is nothing less than their most hated foe.

Let me introduce you one miniature I painted for a private collector that are one of my favourites this year: Cypher.

There was a long time since my last space marine, miniatures I always love to paint. This one was special for me as is not only one of my best ones, it's my first one in a high dynamic battle scene getting fire from enemy, a special effect I never tried before and thta works perfectly on this my in my oppinion.

Hope you like it as much as I do.

MARINA; LVDH Battle sister

Hi guys.

The first entry of the year! This time is to show you a miniature I painted some month ago. MARINA the Battle Sister!

A miniature sculpted at Hydra Studio for La Voz De Horus based on Marina Izarne.

I painted it with the classic black scheme with a red cloak, nothing new, but hey! I love the Classics! Hope you like it too.

Mortarion

Finally, Final pics of Mortarion are here!

It took a while to edit all of them as we were very busy at Hydra Studio, but right now one of the harders minis I painted in my life is here!

So many details, a lot of effort, almost 2 painting months at full time... and hard shipping partially unassembled (that forced me to take pictures with a provisional assembling).

It was a very hard job but we can be proud of it.

Also, if you click on "read more" you can also read some impression of how hard is to take pics of a mini as big as this one.

Mortarion, Step by Step; Week 8

My plan was to finish Mortarion this week, but It was impossible. One of the hardest miniatures I ever painted is fighting back against my efforts so I'll need some more days to finish, but It's almost done!

Let's see the steps done this week:

Mortarion Step by Step; Week 6

Well, another intense week of work on Mortarion. Slowly I can start to see light after all.

This week I was painting secondary elements and details, but very important to complete the miniature.

Lets' see the step by step of this week's work:

Mortarion Step by Step; Week 5

After a break of a couple of weeks, Mortarion is back to my painting table.

It's a hard and challenging miniature (maxiture), and often, painters need to stop and do something different when painting something like that. This is not an exception. I hope in a couple of weeks more I can say I accomplished this challenge.

Also, sometimes seems that we do nothing, but small details, almost imperceptible, took an incredible amount of time. This is the case this week. But, finally, I could finish the main body and I can focus now on painting spare parts that are easier to handle.

Let's see the steps done:

Mortarion Step by Step; Week 4

Hi all.

This was an exciting but very hard week. I managed to finish several important parts so I could start the Assembling of this guy!! In fact, it's not more work than other weeks, but it's a moral improvement as I can start to see light after all!

Let's see what we did!

Mortarion Step by Step; Week 3

Hello again.

This week's work is a bit repeating the previous steps we did during weeks 1&2; It's an exciting week as we could finish a couple of pieces completely so the moment to start assembling them is closer (but probably not yet next week).

Let's see what we did!

Mortarion step by step; Week 1

This week at Hydra Studio we started to paint Mortarion (well, when I say "we" I mean "me"; I paint personally all High-Quality works).

We decided to take some fast step by step pictures to post it at our facebook. Also, I'll share them with you on my blog too!

This week we had not so much time to work on it. Assembling and primming so big piece kept us busy a couple of days, but anyway we could do some interesting things.

Lelith Hesperax

A couple of weeks ago I finished the commision on this miniature.

I must say I'm not completely happy with her. As you know I've a BAN on Finecast (I do not accept commisions on this material) but for this time, I choose to give it a try again and let's see...

Well, I still have a BAN to Finecast.

It was hard, Usually, these minis should be quite easy to paint, but that was not the case. Fortunately, the colour scheme was not hard so I could achieve a good mini, at last, but I prefer to not try again.

Hope at least you like it (and please do not look at the bent weapon, it was impossible to correct)

Wulfen Pack Leader (Space Wolf)

Hi Guys, this is my last finished commision job, a Pack Leader of the Wulfen Space Wolf Squad.

I intentionally did not build some pieces that look oversized and, in my own opinion, make the mini less powerful. Instead, I looked for a more Savage interpretation using as fewer pieces as possible and painting the chest armour as skin.

Hope you like it!

Painting DeathWatch Army: Week 9; #Warmaster's Crusade

As you already know, Volomir.com presented their challenge "Warmaster's Crusade"Basically, a couple of painters have a limited time to complete a 1000 points Warhammer 40.000 army.

As you know I'm participating aside them until checkpoint 3 in June where Warmasters must have completed 500 points army. My objective is to paint 710 points at that point.

Also, I'll keep you updated on the work I do every week I work in this Army. Past Monday 21st I posted the work done in week 8. We reach that point then:

As you see they are almost done. Should be finished this week 9, and they are almost done, but Huston, we had a problem...

Anyway, do you want to see some advances?
